Sun 19 Apr 2009  Cup
Under 10 Green 0
Sherwood 4

Conditions were warm and pleasant but unfortunately, today just didn't go our way.

We had countless shots on goal but just couldn't seem to find the back of the net. Right from the start we came at them taking chance after chance but their goalie seemed to be everywhere.

In the first half they snatched a couple of cheeky goals, chipping Josh, to take the lead. Never the less our lads kept their heads up and kept on trying but nothing seemed to go their way.

Jamie, back from injury, was once again paired with George W to rekindle their great defensive partnership. They did a good job of staving off several attacks from Sherwood.

Mid-field consisted of Matthew and Tom and in the second half Gautam who came on as a sub. Each and everyone of them tried their hardest and chased after every ball they could.

Attack saw a partnering of Connor and George T and again in the second half, substitutions saw Broughton and Ben come on. Again each one of them played well and tried to break down Sherwood's defence, each had shots on goal but none saw the ball hit the back of the net.

Unfortunately today's loss means that in total we have drawn one and lost one in the YEL cup - lets just hope we can win the final two matches to give us a chance of qualifying for the second round.

Man of the Match today went to Josh who played very well and who managed to make several good saves.
