A contentious handball goal was allowed by the referee, scored by Sherwood from a corner straight from kick-off, after Beeston took the lead, making the score 2-2.

Beeston didn’t start the second half as well the first, with Sherwood dominating making the score 4-3 in no time. An amazing effort, which wasn’t closed down, found the top hand corner of the net leaving the score at 5-3 to Sherwood.
Some inspiring substitutions saw the re-introduction of Abbiss, Bateman and Johns. From a corner, Bloomfield planted the ball in the net with a stunning header making the score 5-4. Sherwood tried to hold onto the lead but a link up between Bateman, Abbiss and Matthews led to Abbiss scoring to complete a sensational comeback.
The result leaves Beeston 5th in the table with 16 points. 11 points behind second place with two games in hand and 12 points behind Long Eaton who occupy 1st position.
Beeston’s next game is on the 28th of March at home against Long Eaton.
